Edit a tag's records

4 min de lectura

A tag holds a list of records, and Hex NFC shows that list on the Tag screen. Add one, change one, move one up the list or delete one, then write the tag once the list reads the way you want it.

Open the record list

Do either of the following:

  • To work on a tag you have in your hand, scan it. Its records appear on the Tag screen. See Scan a tag.

  • To build a set of records with no tag in front of you, tap Build on the home screen.

A tag or a build that holds nothing yet reads "Empty tag", with "Add a record to get started." underneath.

Add a record

  1. Paso 1Open the record picker

On the Tag screen, tap Add record. It sits at the end of the record list, or in the middle of the screen when the tag holds nothing. The Add record screen opens with one tile per type.

  2. Paso 2Choose a type

Tap the tile you want, such as Text, URL, Contact or Wi-Fi. The app adds a record of that type and opens it for you to fill in.

  3. Paso 3Fill in the record

Enter the details the record needs, then tap Save. The record appears at the end of the list on the Tag screen.

There are 18 types. Record types covers what each one holds and what a phone does with it when it reads the tag.

Add a record from a QR code

  1. Paso 1Open the QR reader

On the Add record screen, tap Scan QR. The Scan a QR code screen opens.

  2. Paso 2Allow the camera

The first time, the screen reads "Allow camera to scan a QR" and "The frame is processed on-device. Nothing is uploaded." Tap Allow camera, then allow access when iOS asks. If you refused the camera earlier, the screen reads "Camera access needed" instead. Tap Open Settings and turn the camera back on for Hex NFC.

  3. Paso 3Point the camera at the code

Hold the code inside the frame. The app reads the first code it sees, turns it into a record, and opens it for you to check.

The type it picks matches what the code carries: a Wi-Fi network, a contact, an email, a text message, a phone number or a location. A web address becomes a URL record. Anything else becomes a text record.

Change, move or delete a record

Do any of the following on the Tag screen:

  • To change a record, tap its row, edit the fields, then tap Save.

  • To move a record, drag its row up or down. The list order is the order the records are written to the tag.

  • To delete a record, swipe left on its row and tap Delete. Swiping the row all the way across deletes it without that second tap.

A record you delete here is gone from the list, not from the tag. The tag keeps what it had until the next write, so a list you emptied by mistake costs you nothing. To clear a tag for real, see Erase or format a tag.

Finish the edit

Nothing on this screen reaches the tag until you write it. Once the list is right, do one of the following:

  • To put the records on the tag, tap Write. See Write a link to a tag.

  • To keep the set for another day, open the menu at the top of the Tag screen and tap Save as preset…. See Save a tag as a preset.

  • To leave, tap Close. Your tag stays as it was, and edits you neither wrote nor saved are dropped.
